Two Lock Haven “Little Libraries” Damaged; Justin Shady to the rescue
LOCK HAVEN, PA – A Lock Haven man recently stepped up when it was learned that vandals had damaged two Little Libraries maintained in the community by The Rotary Club of Downtown Lock Haven.
The Rotary project has stationed the free libraries around town to encourage reading where community members may gather. Vandals recently damaged the doors on two of the structures, one at Hanna Park and one at Hoberman Park, and city resident Justin Shady came to the rescue, repairing the damaged doors at his own expense and with assistance from son Carter, age eight, restored them to their original appearance.
Shady’s wife Stephanie took to social media to thank her husband for the effort. “My husband has the biggest heart. Two weeks ago or so there was a post going around that the little libraries around town that two of them had been vandalized / broken doors. Justin saw the post and we were talking about it he went to the two libraries that were broken checked them out got measurements brought the one door home and set out to replace the doors! He is always helping someone for nothing or making large donations when needed.”
The restored library doors were put in place on Saturday and the Downtown Rotary group was quick to thank the Shadys for their kind efforts.
