Inca Band returns to Lock Haven’s Floating Stage Saturday

LOCK HAVEN, PA – The Lock Haven Summer Concert Series is excited to welcome the Inca Band back to the Floating Stage this Saturday at 6:30 p.m.

Led by Edgardo Cintron, this group of excellent seasoned musicians pays honor to one of the most influential guitarists the music industry and world has ever known, Carlos Santana.

Starting 40 years ago in Woodstock and 8 Grammy’s later Carlos Santana has placed Latin rock, Latin funk and Latin jazz on the forefront of the music industry.

His Music with songs like, “Oye Como Va”, “Evil Ways”, “Black Magic Woman” , and currently “Smooth” and “Maria Maria” are capturing audiences young and old and still creating a stir in the music industry today.

Percussionist Edgardo Cintron is known as much for his affable personality and generous spirit as for his tasty musicianship. Born on August 28th, 1958 in Fort Riley, Kansas, he attributes his musical influences to his Father, Pablo, who played guitar in the U.S. military band and also to Charlie Parker, Stevie Wonder, Carlos Santana and Tito Puente. By the age of five, Edgardo was studying French horn and guitar, and later, the percussion, all under his father’s direction.

Moving the Family to the East Coast in 1962, the elder Cintron formed his own band, Los Tropicales. By age twelve, Edgardo had the percussion chair. He traveled up and down the coast with the band, playing at hotels and Latin dances, working with such notable musicians as Yomo Toro and Maso Rivera. After serving in the Army, Edgardo formed his own twelve-piece band, the Tiempo Noventa Orchestra, playing numerous festivals, and releasing three CDs. In addition to Inca, Edgardo fronts the Latin pop orchestra, “Cintron”.
