Flags of Honor ceremony set for Lock Haven’s Triangle Park Sunday
LOCK HAVEN, PA – The annual Flags of Honor event has outdone itself for Memorial Day 2023. A record number of 158 flags adorn Triangle Park for Memorial Day Weekend.
A Memorial Observance in the Lock Haven park will take place at 12 noon on Sunday. Members of the sponsoring Rotary Club of Downtown Lock Haven will welcome everyone and distribute the official booklets which list the flag sponsors and the names of those honored.
Vocalist Kimberly Vance will open the Sunday program with the National Anthem. Rotary Area Governor Diahann Claghorn will emcee. New participants this year are SPC Nathaniel Noel, SSG Nikki Litz, and SFC Charles Bryant of A Company, 337th Engineer Battalion, Pennsylvania National Guard. They will explain the meaning of each fold of the flag.
The weather forecast through the Memorial Day weekend is an optimum one; for the Sunday Triangle Park observance it is to be sunny and 75 degrees.
Flags of Honor is a project of the Rotary Club of Downtown Lock Haven, with support from “Angel Partners” Nestlerode Contracting Co. and Signs & Designs of Mill Hall, as well as corporate sponsors. Proceeds benefit non-profits and worthy causes.
