Central Mountain’s Lindsay claims third D6 tennis title

ALTOONA, PA – Defending PIAA AAA state champion David Lindsay breezed to his third straight District 6 tennis title on Wednesday, downing #3 seed Mark Sandow of State College in the finals by a score of 6-0, 6-0.

Earlier wins came over Zemu Zhang of State College,6-0, 6-1; Ben Johnson of Hollidaysburg, 6-0, 6-0; and Luke Mitchell of Altoona, 6-0, 6-0.

Wildcat teammate Asher Talbot went 1-1 on the day, opening with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Micah Moyer of Shikellamy before falling, 6-0, 6-1, to Nathan Barton of Hollidaysburg.

Lindsay, a junior, has lost only one match in his scholastic career, a first-round contest in his freshman year to the eventual state champion. He will defend his state title later this month in Hershey.
