Sad news for all us

Editor:
Bechtel Corporation’s withdrawal of their proposed natural gas to electric power generating plant in Renovo is a sad, sad story for all of us. But who can blame them? It’s not their fault, it’s ours. It’s our government. WE are the voters.

So if this is another victory, it’s a victory for who exactly? Since this project would have helped to restore a portion of our energy independence that Biden and his handlers abandoned and, dare I say it, help to Make America Great Again, it had to be stopped regardless of the consequences. This project was to be located in a depressed very rural area of central Pennsylvania where clean burning natural gas is in abundant supply. There are also existing power transmission lines in the area as well as rail lines and plenty of river water. The town of Renovo is, or was, a perfect place for projects like this. Note that it was not a coal plant or, Heaven forbid, a nuclear plant. It was gas that is readily available right now for a lot less than we are paying our adversaries on the other side of the planet for their oil. And geeze! Ya’ know, we really need the electric power that it could have been generating to charge the electric vehicles that we are being coerced into buying. Instead, we will just have to learn to live with electric rationing and rolling blackouts just like they are doing in California. Ain’t that something great to look forward to? That’s progress, right?

This natural gas to electric plant, and others like it, could help to fill the gap that is missing in our Country’s energy needs until some other even cleaner source of electric power can be developed and actually brought online to replace it. Stopping them now is a fool’s errand run by terribly shortsighted fools.
