Bellefonte High School threat deemed “not credible”

BELLEFONTE, PA – The Bellefonte School District Wednesday morning posted word on its website that the threat of a shooting at the Bellefonte High School proved to be “not credible.”

The posting read:

• LOCKDOWN ALERT:

Police received a call about a threat against the high school this morning. Police have been on scene and are clearing the building. We have determined the threat to not be credible. Students are being evacuated and we will send information about reunification soon.

We are being told that this has been occurring at schools across the state.

Bellefonte High School and Middle School were placed on lockdown earlier Wednesday after the threat was reported. Multiple police responded to the two schools and swept through the buildings. A short while later the district announced that the threat had not been credible.
