County hires new Human Resources Administrator

LOCK HAVEN, PA – The Clinton County Commissioners on Thursday hired a new Human Resources Administrator. She is Desiree Myers, a Clinton County resident most recently working in human relations with the Williamsport Area School District. Myers will replace Cathy Dremel, the county’s first-ever human resources director, who retired in October after five years in the position. The Myers hire is to become effective Jan. 16, the salary at $47,631.

The Myers position is officially Human Resources Administrator/Deputy Chief Clerk. As per information later provided by the commissioners’ office, the deputy chief clerk designation is new to the human relations position, responsibilities previously carried out by Maria Boileau, the county’s voter registration director. According to Chief Clerk Jann Meyers, with the next couple of years busy in elections and voter registration, the commissioners are moving those duties to the new hire’s position. Those duties involve preparing the minutes of commissioners and salary board meetings, providing support service to the chief clerk and to the commissioners in the chief clerk’s absence, and other duties as assigned. The Chief Clerk said that portion of her job won’t occupy a large portion of her time, “But we need to have a backup. We will be removing them from Maria’s job description.”

Also Thursday the commissioners transferred Susan Muthler from a computer post in the county assessment office to that of Deputy Treasurer, effective Jan. 30. Muthler has been a county employee since 2004 and replaces Kristy Serafini-Brooks who resigned to take a position with the Keystone Central School District. Muthler’s annual pay will be $39,340.
