Lock Haven University names Foundation Executive Director and Director of Alumni and Employer Engagement

LOCK HAVEN, PA – The Lock Haven University Foundation (LHUF) board of directors has appointed Ashley Koser as the Foundation’s executive director, effective Jan. 3, 2023.

Koser has more than 10 years’ experience in higher education advancement and development leadership. She was hired as the LHUF’s Alumni Director in March 2014 and four years later, she was promoted to her most recent role as executive director of alumni engagement. Prior to joining The Haven family, she served as the assistant director of the Susquehanna University Fund. She also spent time in Penn State University’s Division of Development and Alumni Relations.

“I would like to congratulate (Koser) on her appointment as the LHU Foundation’s next executive director,” said Dr. Bashar W. Hanna, university president. “I am confident that with her leadership the LHU Foundation will continue excelling at its mission to generate essential resources for Lock Haven students.”

In her role as executive director, Koser will oversee daily operations of the LHU Foundation’s development and finance teams, while simultaneously leading the execution of all fundraising campaigns – Including major gifts, annual giving, planned giving, and other revenue-generating initiatives.

“For the past nine years, I’ve dedicated my career to building relationships with Lock Haven University alumni and uniting donors’ philanthropic passions with students’ professional aspirations to help make each of their respective dreams come true,” Koser said.

“Everything we do at the LHU Foundation is centered on empowering students to graduate and leave their mark on society,” she added. “I’m honored that the board of directors, Dr. Hanna, and Erik Evans ’88 (vice president for institutional advancement) are entrusting me with this great opportunity to continue the philanthropic work I so deeply believe in.”

“(Koser’s) enthusiasm and eagerness to learn have been on full display throughout her time at The Haven,” Evans said. “She truly cares for her team, LHUF supporters, and the entire LHU alumni network. I’m looking forward to seeing her continue to grow as we embark on this new and exciting chapter in the LHU Foundation’s history.”

“On behalf of the board of directors, we are thrilled to have Ashley Koser at the helm to lead the LHU Foundation into the future,” said LHUF board chairperson Jennifer Riter ’96. “I’ve had the pleasure of working with Ashley many times throughout the years, and I’ve always been impressed with her wealth of knowledge, passion for, and commitment to supporting Lock Haven University students.”

Also within the Lock Haven University Advancement Division, Ashley Conrad has been named LHU’s director of alumni and employer engagement.

Conrad began at the LHUF in 2016 as its development assistant. In 2020, she was promoted to LHU’s alumni events manager, and for the last year, she has served as interim director of alumni relations for Mansfield University. Before her stint at The Haven, she spent six years in finance and development at Penn State University.

In her new role, Conrad will be responsible for engaging LHU’s network of more than 37,000 living alumni to increase alumni-student partnerships and expand upon the career pathways and professional networking opportunities available to LHU students.

“I cannot think of anyone better qualified to help guide the LHU Alumni Association’s mission to preserve the legacy, history, and traditions of Lock Haven University (than Conrad),” said LHU Alumni Association president Amee Lewis Vance ’75. “Together, we are eager to find new and innovative ways to connect our alumni network with as many students as possible to ensure all students achieve their academic and professional goals.”

The LHU Foundation is an independent, 501(c)(3) non-profit that supports Lock Haven University, and its students, through the procurement of charitable gifts, scholarship revenue and other resources.
