Probert, Heiser grab top Mid Penn tennis honors

WILLIAMSPORT, PA- The 2022 Mid Penn Conference tennis all-star team was announced this week and it was headlined by a strong Bucktail representation.

Senior Kayla Probert was named Mid Penn Conference MVP following a perfect 8-0 in conference play. Probert would finish the season with a 16-1 record and earned a 6 seed in the PIAA District IV 2A singles tournament. She would go 1-1 in district play.

Alison Heiser grabbed the honor of Mid Penn Conference Coach of the Year following a perfect 8-0 conference record and leading Bucktail to their first ever Mid Penn Championship. She also led the Lady Bucks to their first ever District IV 2A semifinal appearance.

Bucktail has now made district playoffs under Heiser every season since 2007.

Bucktail continued to fill out the all-star lineup. Senior Bella English grabbed honors at the number 3 spot following her 7-1 MPC record and a 16-1 overall record.

The Lady Bucks weren’t done there. In doubles senior Gigi Balchun and freshman Eva Sockman earned their way to the doubles all-star team following a 6-0 MPC record and an 11-1 overall record.
