Midd-West downs CM boys’ soccer, 2-0
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP, PA – Central Mountain boys’ soccer welcomed Midd-West to Malinak Stadium on Wednesday night, hoping to keep their winning streak alive and run to four wins in a row. A solid start to the night saw possession in favor of the Wildcats, and getting their first chance on goal.
Unfortunately, the soccer rich Mustangs were able to capitalize early to throw the Wildcats on their heels. A corner kick goal put the Wildcats down 1-0 less than ten minutes in. A short while later, a slip in the backline allowed for a 1v1 with the keeper, finished by the Mustangs for a 2-0 lead.
The scoring would end there for the night, as the second half saw both teams create chances that were stopped by each other’s goalies and back lines.
The loss snaps the three-game winning streak the Wildcats were on, who have won four of their last six games. The regular season finale is Thursday vs. District 9 foe St. Marys.
The Wildcats (5-10-1) will hope to get back in the win column to close out their regular season, as they wait to hear if their District 6 AAAA playoffs chances are alive.
