Flaming Foliage Festival ready to please you

RENOVO, PA – Everything appears in perfect alignment for the 73rd annual presentation of western Clinton County’s Flaming Foliage Festival.

The festival runs three days, Friday through Sunday, and the leaves and weather should be near perfect. The forecast for Saturday afternoon’s big parade is ideal: a high of 69 degrees, mostly sunny skies, and southwesterly winds.

And the most recent state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources foliage report says the leaf coloration should be at its maximum this weekend.

The FFF committee reports there are 25 new vendors in town for the weekend. The craft show at the Flaming Foliage lot at 11th Street and Huron Avenue will be the highlight for Friday and Sunday (and open all day Saturday).

Saturday is the big day from morning until night. The craft show will go on from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The rest of the Saturday schedule:
8:30 a.m. Queen contestant registration
9:00 a.m. Review of queens’ schedule
9:30 a.m. Queens interviews
11:45 a.m. Queens’ luncheon at United Methodist Church social hall
1:00 p.m. Official group photograph at Renovo Post Office
1:45 p.m. Parade of Queens
5:30 p.m. Queens banquet at St. Joseph’s Church social hall
7:00 p.m. Coronation at Bucktail High School, Farwell

Friday will be highlighted by Homecoming related events at Dwyer Memorial Field at Bucktail High School in Farwell, including a Heritage Homecoming event, a Bucktail football game, and the Homecoming queen and king observance.
