CM tennis deals ‘Shore first loss
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP, PA – Its season winding down, the Central Mountain girls’ tennis team picked up its biggest win of the season on Monday, a 3-2 shocker over previously undefeated Jersey Shore at the Gibson Tennis Complex.
Coach Pete Wert’s team took two of three singles matches and earned a split in the doubles for the triumph.
‘Shore had defeated Central Mountain 4 -1 the first time. The Lady ‘Cats’ number one doubles won both matches and their two and three singles reversed their result in this match. Coach Wert told The Record, “”We were thrilled to see improvement since the first time that we played them. They are an outstanding team with excellent young players. We were proud of all of our players today as everyone played extremely well, especially Zeta (Blesh) and Teresa (Temple) in being confident enough to reverse their matches. It was a great team win with excellent tennis played on both sides.”
The Lady Wildcats have one more home match, Oct. 6 with Shikellamy.
