CM boys’ soccer edged by Ironmen

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP, PA – The Wildcat boys’ soccer team found themselves tied 0-0 at halftime Thursday night, again with a tough opponent, this time being PHAC opponent Danville. The Ironmen came into the game 8-2 on the season and were able to secure the win with a late second half goal.

The depleted Wildcats, suffering from injuries all over the field, played strong defensively and battled hard in the midfield. They created chances, including multiple attacks that ended with the ball bouncing around in the box, but were unable to capitalize.

Juniors Asher Talbot and Zane Cooper, wearing the captain bands in place of the two senior captains sitting out due to injury, played phenomenally in positions they are not typically in. Cooper led the backline all night, while Talbot battled in the center midfield and started many attacks for the Wildcats.

Taking knock after knock against the PHAC, the Wildcats find themselves up against the defending state champions at Lewisburg on Monday.
