Boileau says Clinton County ready for November election
By John Lipez
LOCK HAVEN, PA – Clinton County voter registrar Maria Boileau told the county commissioners at their work session Monday that virtually everything is in readiness for the Nov. 8 general election.
She said there does remain a need for some poll workers to man precincts across the county. She said the job requires some training and those selected must work from 6 a.m. on election day until after the polls close at 8 p.m. that day (polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.) Those interested should contact her Piper Building office.
Boileau said Oct. 24 is the deadline to register to vote or to change an address. Nov. 1 is the last date to request an absentee ballot, but she urged those so doing to not wait until the last minute. 1,715 absentee ballots have been requested through Monday.
Most recent numbers for registered voters show a continuing swing towards the Republican Party in the county:
Republican: 12,039;
Democrat: 6,967;
Others: 2,721;
Libertarian: 115;
Green: 25
Total: 21,867
