LHU: Hershey named PSAC Athlete of the Week

LOCK HAVEN, PA – Samuel Hershey (Lancaster, Pa./McCaskey) of the Lock Haven University men’s soccer team was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Athlete of the Week following his two-goals over the weekend.

Hershey was a force for Lock Haven as the Bald Eagles tied against two regionally-ranked opponents in Bloomsburg and Millersville this week.

The forward scored two goals on the road in a 3-3 tie against Millersville, shooting perfectly (2-2) and scoring one of these goals with five seconds remaining to cement the score and grab a tie off the Marauders. The 2021 PSAC East Rookie of the Year posted three shots against the tough defense of the Huskies, but neither side was able to find the net. After this week, the sophomore is currently second in the PSAC in goals with six.

The Bald Eagles will be back in action Wednesday (Sept. 21) when they host Shippensburg at Hubert Jack Stadium. That game is set for a 5 p.m. kickoff.
