Central Mountain PIAA place-winner Walizer commits to LH wrestling
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP, PA – Griffin Walizer, currently a junior at Central Mountain High School, has announced he will do his collegiate wrestling at Commonwealth University-Lock Haven.
Griffin, the son of Central Mountain head coach Biff Walizer and wife Marci, posted his announcement on social media:
Committed to The Rise! I am proud and excited to announce that I am continuing my athletic and academic careers at Lock Haven University. Thank you to my coaches, family, friends, training partners and M2 Training Center for helping me become the athlete and person I am today. I am ready to create some more history for the Lock Haven University Wrestling program. See you in Thomas Field House! #TheRise
Walizer has been a standout on the Central Mountain wrestling team the past two seasons, placing eighth in the state in March of this year. He is also an exceptional golfer on the Wildcat golf team.
He becomes the second Wildcat wrestler to declare his collegiate intentions. Sophomore Dalton Perry earlier this year announced his commitment to wrestle at Penn State after earning a state title. A third PIAA place-winner, Luke Simcox, a junior and two-time state placer, has yet to announce his recruiting decision.
