Wildcat boys’ soccer gets season started with a win at P-O
PHILIPSBURG, PA – The Central Mountain boys’ soccer team traveled to District 6 Phiipsburg-Osceola on Thursday evening for their season opener, and left 5-0 winners.
Senior Nate Brinker opened the scoring just three minutes in, and he would add two more throughout the night to complete the hat trick. Peyton Jones scored his first goal of the year, fighting for a loose ball and making it a two-goal game early. Zane Cooper capped off the scoring with his first career goal, and he did it in fashion. A 40-yard free kick in off the post that may just end up being the goal of the season for the Wildcats.
The backline of Braylon Gentzel, Isaiah Brinker, Ben Fortescue, and Isaiah Conoway helped make Kyle Stahl’s night in goal very easy, as they earned the well deserved shutout.
Jones added an assist to his goal scoring evening, while Lincoln Breon, Asher Talbot, and Pierce Long also earned their first assists of the season.
JV completed the night with a 2-0 win themselves, goals by Colby Bakaj and Dylan Bechdel. Jaggar Pardoe earned the shutout in goal.
CM is back on the road Tuesday at Warrior Run.
