PV Lady Rams edge CM girls’ soccer, 1-0
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP, PA – The Central Mountain Lady Wildcat soccer team made their first home appearance at Malinak Stadium Thursday night. This was their third game in four days as they welcomed the Penns Valley Lady Rams, this being the second time already this season. The visitors would prevail by a 1-0 score.
The Lady Wildcats worked hard from the first whistle to the last as they battled for every ball. What is believed to be an own goal was the deciding factor on the scoreboard. The Lady Wildcats had a few chances in both halves but could not get the ball past the visiting teams keeper.
In what would be a fantastic effort, a never give in mentality and a willingness to push themselves beyond exhaustion, the Lady Wildcat soccer team showed their true character in what will be coined as “Participate with Passion!” Cutting the deficit from three goals in the first game to one the second time around showed the home side is getting better every day. One of the core values, a commitment to play for each other was on full display, according to Coach Ryan Veltri..
The JV team also showed great improvement as they closed the gap from the first time around, losing 4-1 in the first game of the season, they held the visiting team scoreless! Kaelynn Braun recorded the clean sheet in goal, her first of the season. A much-improved side, the Lady Wildcat soccer team is gaining some traction!
Coach Veltri said, “Tomight was a good night to be a Wildcat! The crowd was excited, the game went end to end and the girls displayed their new home uniforms. Also noted, there were a few Lady Wildcat Soccer alumni in the stands and supporting the teams on the field. What a great atmosphere for a high school event!”
