Woolrich Park ownership transfer process moving along
LOCK HAVEN, PA – Woolrich Park will soon have new ownership. The next step in the process is to come at Thursday’s Clinton County Commissioners’ meeting.
Commissioner Angela Harding said at Monday’s board work session that the county will briefly be taking ownership of the Woolrich landmark from Woolrich, Inc., present park owners who wish to divest itself of ownership.
The commissioners have worked with the Pine Creek Township supervisors on turning over park responsibility to the township as the county does not have the staffing to maintain and operate such a facility.
An agreement has been drawn up to cover the transfer from Woolrich to the local governmental entities. The transfer was first discussed in the spring. It is understood the agreement will turn the park over to the township, with the understanding its ownership will revert to county government if the township chooses not to maintain it as a park.
County board chairman Miles Kessinger said Monday that the Thursday meeting agenda will also include discussion on retaining the EADS engineering group to take a first look at upgrades on the HVAC systems at the county’s Piper Building and Courthouse.
