PORTER TOWNSHIP, PA – Motorists traveling Route 64 between Mill Hall and Lamar cannot help but marvel at the sunflowers along the highway.

And it’s more than just sunflowers as the Paul Dotterer & Sons, Inc. farm along Route 64 is celebrating summer with a beautiful Sunflower Maze. The maze is open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. for public viewing.

Maze organizer, Doug Dotterer, says the 8-acre maze is a first for the family farm. It’s certainly getting some attention, with people touring, coming to take photos, and, in general, admire the gorgeous flowers. Admission is 5 with kids 12 and under free.

Depending on weather condition

s, Dotterer says the flowers could last another into next week, but if interested, don’t delay — come on out and take a look.

And once the flowers have passed, fellow farmer Seth Ulmer of Ulmer Farms on the Great Island will harvest the crop and the sunflower seeds will be sold locally to Chatham Run Feed Mill, which uses them in their bird feed mix.

If you’re looking for a specific address to find the maze, it’s 6658 Nittany Valley Drive, Mill Hall, PA 17751. You also can check out more details on the Dotterer Grown Facebook page.
