Move This Town – Annual music concert announced for August 7
By Christopher Miller
Two free concerts are being planned for the afternoon and evening of Sunday, August 7 on the floating stage in downtown Lock Haven.
Move This Town “rock music with a conscience” is a free concert of positive music for the entire family.
“We stumbled upon the idea for a concert in 2020 when a band, Winona Avenue, sent a mailer to local organizations saying they would come out and play,” said event organizer Christina Frank. “I listened to them online, reached out to them and said sure, let’s do a show, let’s bring this to the youth of Clinton County.”
“Move This Town is an annual music concert for all ages that promotes positivity through music,” Christina said. “We want to bring every person in the audience to Christ one way or another…we want to have a positive night of people feeling good about themselves, and about God’s love.”
Taking the stage at 3:30 p.m. is Soulmanna, which is a blues/rock/Christian worship music band from Williamsport. “Josh Grimes pointed them to me in 2021 and they have played at the Avenue Coffee shop in the past,” said Christina. “They will play a couple sets then take a break before Winona Avenue begins at 6:30 p.m.”
Winona Avenue first introduced themselves to the music world in 2019 as a mix of alternative rock and synth pop. The band, which is based out of Indianapolis, Indiana, combines the music and lyrics of brothers David and Daniel Deputy. “I choose to write music that can encourage the listener,” says Daniel. “If I didn’t write lyrics that could make a positive difference in the listener’s life, then I’d feel as if I was doing a disservice to the listener. I believe in building others up instead of tearing others down, and music is a tool that can serve this purpose.”
Organizations interested in becoming involved with the concert are encouraged to use the Contact Form available on the website www.MoveThisTown.com. Volunteers are welcome to call organizer Christina Livingston at 570-660-5365 or email doclivingston1428@gmail.com.
Cold beverages will be available for sale at the event.
