Keystone 12s wallop Mifflinburg in sectional opener
POTTSVILLE, PA – The Keystone 12 All-Stars got off to a solid start Tuesday in a first-round sectional contest at Pottsville, downing Mifflinburg by a 12-2 count in four innings.
Hayes Donley led a 13-hit Keystone onslaught, clubbing two homeruns and driving in six. Joey Miller had an RBI dinger for Manager Ben Falls’ team. Gabe Killinger was 2-for-2 with a triple; Ashton Falls had a double and a single and two runs batted in. Luke Nonemaker chipped in with two singles and an RBI and singles came from Alex Johnson (1 RBI), Blake King, Mason Myers and Charlie Ramos (1 RBI).
Five different Keystone pitchers combined for a 2-hitter. They were King, Kyle Everett, Donley, Miller and Falls. Collectively they struck out seven and gave up two runs (one earned), walked seven and hit two Mifflinburg batters.
With the win Keystone advances to the winners’ bracket final Wednesday against the winner of the night-time Tuesday game between Blue Mountain and Wellsboro. The Wednesday game will be at 5:30 p.m.
