Montoursville takes down Keystone 10s by 17-9 count
MONTOURSVILLE, PA – The Montoursville 10s Little League All-Stars had to wait one full week to get a rematch with previously undefeated Keystone and Montour got its revenge Thursday evening, a 17-9 homefield win over the Keystoners. The Montoursville win forced a winner-take-all game Friday at 5:45 p.m. at the Loyalsock Little League field.
It was one week earlier when Keystone downed Montour by a 16-11 count. With its early loss, Montoursville had to win two losers’ bracket games over the previous two evenings to earn the rematch. Doing that and given the Thursday reprieve, Montour came out hitting, putting up 15 hits on the way to its 17 runs, scoring in every inning and touching up seven different Keystone pitchers. Jackson Smith, who earned the win, had four singles and Carter Endlandson and Emerson Eck each chipped in with three singles for the winners.
Meanwhile three Montoursville pitchers held Keystone to six hits. Brad Brungard paced Keystone with a double and single and two RBIs. Chase Karstetter had a double for Keystone and singles came from Carter Miller, Ehan Nestor and Abel Jarrells.
