Veterans Bridge to Riverview Park pedestrian link project to get underway soon

LOCK HAVEN, PA – While there has been no official word from PennDOT, local officials have learned that construction of a walkway from the north end of Veterans Bridge to Woodward Township’s Riverview Park could begin as soon as Monday, June 27.

The Clinton County Economic Partnership on Thursday circulated word on a pre-construction conference call with PennDOT, the project contractor Clearwater Construction Inc. and others.

As per that session, PennDOT has authorized its “notice to proceed” as of this coming Monday, June 27. This approximate 2-year job includes extensive improvements to 0.27 miles (1,400 feet) of the Farrandsville Road from the Woodward Township side of the Veterans Bridge (Jay St.) upstream to Riverview Park; the improvement will include construction of a pedestrian walkway from the bridge to the park.

Officials said no detours are anticipated, but probably by the end of July, there will be day-time flagging to control single-lane traffic through the work the area. During the 2023 construction season, it’s anticipated a traffic light will be installed to control single-lane traffic.
