$5 gas hits PA, Clinton County
LOCK HAVEN, PA – More gas pumps in Clinton County are hitting and surpassing the $5 a gallon barrier. This as the average price of a gallon in Pennsylvania topped the $5 threshold on June 8.
As gas prices have risen steadily for the last two weeks, a gallon of gas in Pennsylvania surpassed $5 as of Wednesday of last week. AAA reports the state average is $5.071, compared to $4.40 a month ago and $3.077 a year ago.
The average price of a gallon of gas in Clinton County as of Sunday is $5.074; in Centre County the number is $5.043 and in Lycoming $5.034. Interestingly, the lowest price per gallon in the state is neighboring Cameron County at $4.982, according to Triple-A.
The highest prices in Pennsylvania are found in the northeastern part of the state, led by Pike County at $5.218.
