Championship week in Keystone Central
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP, PA – Monday kicks off a weeklong run of championship events involving athletes from high schools within the Keystone Central School District. To say it’s been a good spring on the fields of play would be an understatement. Athletes in six different sports from both Central Mountain and Bucktail High Schools will be competing this week for postseason honors:
Monday: Central Mountain baseball (15-5) hosts Hollidaysburg (4-13) at 4 p.m. at Mill Hall Community Park in a District 6 Class 5A semifinal; audio streamed on therecord-online.
Tuesday: Bucktail softball (17-2) hosts Sullivan County (9-7) at 4;30 p.m. in a District 4 Class 1A quarterfinal game; audio streamed on therecord-online.
Wednesday: Central Mountain softball (18-2) plays Bellefonte (12-7) at 5 p.m. in the District 6 Class 5A championship game at Saint Francis University of Loretto; audio streamed on therecord-online.
Thursday: District 41A softball semifinal at Elm Park, Williamsport. A Bucktail Tuesday win puts the Lady Bucks into this game; audio streamed on therecord-online if Bucktail plays.
Friday: District 6 Class 5A championship game at PNG Park, Altoona. A Central Mountain win Monday puts the Wildcats into this game; audio streamed on therecord-online if Central Mountain plays.
Additionally, this week Central Mountain sophomore David Lindsay will be in Hershey beginning Friday morning in the two-time District 6 champion’s quest for a PIAA title. And five Central Mountain students will be in Shippensburg Saturday for the PIAA track and field championships, having qualified at the District 6 meet in Altoona last week.
