By Bees O’Brien
MUNCY, PA- Bucktail baseball gave up 18 hits and committed 5 errors in their 24-0 loss to Muncy on Thursday of last week. Improvements showed in their rematch at Muncy on Tuesday night. The Bucks allowed just 9 hits, only committed one error in their 17-2 road loss to the Indians.
Muncy (17-3) already had wrapped up a Mid Penn Championship and was looking to cruise to victory in their final regular season contest. The Indians stopped Bucktail’s first at bat and would cross 9 runs in their half of the inning.
Bucktail (1-13) would give up 8 more runs to Muncy in the bottom of the second. In the top of the third the Bucks would get runs from Zack Pick and Kayden Friese, but it wouldn’t be enough to extend the game.
Kayden Friese led Bucktail’s offense with a double, a walk and an RBI. Pick and Brett Mason would each chip in with a hit apiece.
Bucktail will be back at it on Wednesday with a road trip to NTL opponent Williamson before a Friday trip to Taggart Park in Lock Haven in a rematch with Sugar Valley Rural Charter. Their opener with the Phoenix stands as Bucktail’s lone victory. Sugar Valley is 0-15 going into that game, which will be livestreamed on The Record Online starting at 4:30 p.m..
