Tuesday is primary election day in Clinton County, across the state
LOCK HAVEN, PA – Clinton County voter registrar Maria Boileau indicates everything is in readiness for the Pennsylvania primary scheduled for Tuesday.
Boileau spoke at the Monday Clinton County Commissioners’ work session and offered some reminders. They included word that all mail-in/absentee ballots must be back to the county’s Piper Building by 8 p.m. Tuesday in order to be counted. She said 1,592 had been requested and as of Monday morning 1,143 had been returned.
She said any outstanding ballots can be turned in the voting precincts of voters on election day or placed in the ballot box in the Piper Building parking lot; she said the latter is checked several times daily.
Boileau said 11,958 Republicans are eligible to vote on Tuesday, along with 7,058 Democrats. Total registration for the county is 21,835, but as Pennsylvania is a “closed” primary state, only registered Republicans and Democrats may vote in the primary.
Polls will be open on Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
