LOCKPORT, PA – The rain has held off and daylong activities are underway at the annual Clinton County Relay for Life at Riverview Park. The event began at 10 a.m. Saturday and will conclude with the closing ceremony at 9:45 p.m. The schedule will include the 9 p.m. luminaria ceremony and silent lap, as organizers say, “A time to grieve for those lost to cancer, reflect on your own personal experience and see the hope for the future.”

Relay for Life co-event leader Roxanne Embick said she is pleased with the turnout, as of early afternoon a “steady flow” of participants and visitors. She said six teams are onsite at the park, two others involved in other fundraising efforts but not present.

Today’s Relay theme is “Carnival for a Cure” with games and activities to match that theme.. Embick noted that carnival-style food is available for visitors.
