Wildcat baseball downs Dragons, 14-6

LEWISBURG, PA – Junior right-hander Levi Schlesinger stepped up with four innings of shutout relief to help guide the Central Mountain baseball team to a 14-6 win at Lewisburg on Thursday.

Both the Green Dragons and the Wildcats were slugging the ball at the start of the game, the score 11-6 in favor of the ‘Cats after three. Schlesinger came on in relief in the bottom of the fourth and finished up with four innings of 1-hit ball, striking out five and issuing no walks.

Meanwhile CM used 11 hits and four Dragon errors to put up 14 runs in all. Nate Helms continued his hot hitting of late, the junior catcher with three singles in four plate appearances, driving in two runs and scoring one. Kevin Grenninger had two singles and scored three runs and Gabe Johnson had a single and a double and four RBIs.

Cru Stover contributed a double and two RBIs and Jason Foltz had a double, an RBI and two runs scored. Dallas Alexander had a single and an RBI and Chase Brush with a single.

The Wildcats are now 10-0 in Heartland play, 11-2 overall. They are scheduled to play at Danville (7-7) weather permitting on Friday. Lewisburg is 5-6 in the Heartland, 7-6 overall.
