Lady Wildcats shut down Danville, 6-1
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP, PA- The Central Mountain Lady Wildcats scored in each of the first five innings enroute to a 6-1 win over visiting Danville on Tuesday. The win put Coach Fred Caldwell’s team at 12-1 in Heartland Conference play, 13-2 overall and atop the conference and District 6 Class 5A standings.
Allison Lininger and Harley Kunes led the way with two hits each and Sophie Mitchell collected her fifth home run of the season. Caitlyn Watson, Maddie Hardy, Kelsey Burrows, Audrey Walker and Katelyn Bowman each added one hit a piece.
Allison Lininger went the distance in the circle allowing one run on only two hits, one walk and 11 strikeouts.
Danville dropped to 6-5 with the loss. Central Mountain next travels to Mifflinburg (4-5; 5-8) on Thursday.
