Lady Bucks duo tosses combined no-hitter in 18-0 win at Galeton

GALETON, PA- For the second time during the 2022 softball season, Bucktail recorded a combined no-hitter.

Emma Poorman and Lily Francis did the feat in a victory at Benton and this time around on Monday it was the combination of Mak Wagner and Jordan Burrows.

Wagner would work three innings, striking out 9 and allowing one walk. Burrows would close out the five inning game with two scoreless innings and allowing a pair of walks. Bucktail’s duo in the circle allowed just three base runners.

Bucktail’s offense was in full gear against the Lady Tigers. Bucktail scored three runs in each of the first four innings, before unleashing a 6-run top of the fifth to set the final at 18-0.

Jordan Burrows also had a monster day at the plate. The Bucktail senior would go 3 for 5 on the day with a double and 4 RBI’s. Wagner went 2 for 3 with a pair of RBI’s and 3 runs scored. Alexis Lowery continued to swing the bat well for the Lady Bucks, going 2 for 3 with 3 runs batted in.

Haley Burrows would go 1 for 2 with a triple, 3 runs scored and 5 stolen bases. Emma Poorman, Lily Francis, Matti Mason and Kayla Probert also collected hit for the now 8-0 Lady Bucks. Galeton dropped to 0-5 on the season.

Bucktail will be back in Mid Penn Conference play Tuesday when they host Columbia Montour Vo-Tech (2-7) in Farwell for a 4:30 start time. They finish the week in a conference showdown at Montgomery on Thursday.
