Firemen douse fire at First Quality Lock Haven
LOCK HAVEN, PA – Firemen from Castanea, Lock Haven and the surrounding area were in service for three hours responding to a late Tuesday morning alarm at First Quality’s Lock Haven Tissue facility.
Fire officials were unavailable for immediate comment but therecord-online learned the flames were from lint-like material from a dryer used in the tissue-manufacturing process. Firemen removed a portion of a metal roof to attack the fire. There was no word on the extent of the loss.
Ladders from the two Lock Haven ladder trucks were used to get firemen to the roof. There was an unconfirmed report of one minor injury to a fireman. Firemen have responded to similar type fires at the First Quality facility in the past.
