CM’s Bair wraps up great freshman season at PIAA state meet

LEWISBURG, PA – Bucknell University was the venue for the PIAA Swimming and Diving State Championship Meet on Wednesday and Central Mountain freshman Camryn Bair held her own swimming with the state’s best.

Event 4, 50 freestyle, Heat 4, Lane 8 was the lane to watch. Bair had a great start, a strong turn and finished 5th in her heat out of eight swimmers. Bair was ready to race. She was seeded 25th out of 32 swimmers and swam to a 20th place with a time of 24.40.

It has been 21 years since a Central Mountain swimmer has made an appearance at the PIAA State Meet.

Team backers said, “Camryn had a great year and a great debut to the State scene. Sure, to be back in the years to come!” Bair had become the school’s first female District 6 champion earlier in March at Hollidaysburg High School.
