Bucktail Class of 1969 Holds 45th Reunion

FAREWELL – The Bucktail Area High School Class of ’69 came together July 26, 2014 for our 45th Reunion, beginning at 6 p.m. at the Sportsman’s Hotel. The class picture was taken by Tom Jaques. Melvin Milliron opened the evening in prayer and after the meal, the class meeting was held. The following classmates were recognized for never missing a reunion, including Sam Brooks, Chris Florey Campbell, Daryl Friese, Susan Kinney Clemmer and Martha McGregor Sykes.
Gag gifts were presented to all classmates. Also all classmates at the reunion were given a CD of music from the 60’s made by DJ Brownie and a Red and White crocheted mitten with the saying attached “mittens warm the hands, but the Class of ’69 warms the heart” made by the Late Bette Cole.
As a memorial service was held in remembrance of our beloved classmates which was read by Marian Conn and included the following: Kevin Wilson, 9-28-67; Mark Policastro, 2-28-68; Stanley Casper, 7-14-69; Jimmy Martino, 11-16-69; Jeff Martella, 9-23-72; Rod Burrows, 12-08-73; Charlie Werts, 11-04-82; Chuckie Lovett, 11-16-86; Chris Winkleman Summerson, 2-07-87; Roger Casper, 5-14-91; Chris Gaines, 7-23-91; Richard “Icabod” Cramer, 1-02-92; Beth Connolly Lupro, 9-21-93; John Kramer, 4-01-00; Denny Stahley, 5-27-01; Benny Harman, 9-30-05; Kay Rosamilia Guadagno, 7-01-13; John Francis, 3-30-14.
Each classmate brought a homemade item or one that represents the area where they live and were used as door prizes. Six gift baskets were chanced off to raise money for our annual Class of ’69 Memorial Awards given to two fourth grade students at Renovo Elementary at the end of each school year, the class has been doing this for the past thirty years.
After the meeting, the class was shown a DVD made by Jesse Overgord of the past 45 years; this was very enjoyable and memorable.
