Marsh Creek area man arrested after early Sunday domestic matter

 

CURTIN TOWNSHIP, PA – Rockview state police have arrested a Howard area resident and charged him with making terroristic threats among multiple charges stemming from an incident in his Little Marsh Creek Road home early on Sunday.

Travis Harpster, 34, was arrested following a police response to a “911 hang-up call” at 1:35 a.m. Sunday.

Upon arrival, police said, the accused told them that “everything was okay” and one of his children had accidentally dialed 911. Police said during their investigation, it was determined that a domestic altercation had taken place.

According to the police report, Harpster waived a pistol and made threats to kill the victim; he fired six shots into the back yard of the residence and as the victim attempted to contact 911, Harpster disabled the home phone. Police allege he then head-butted the victim and shoved her through a bedroom door and denied her efforts to remove the children from the residence.

Police said when they arrived at the rural location, Harpster told the victim to take a shower so that the police would not see her injuries.

The police probe found spent shell casings and the firearm used during the altercation and said that Harpster, as a felon, was not to possess a firearm.

In addition to terroristic threats, Harpster was also charged with the firearm possession violation, simple assault and harassment. He was arraigned before Judge Allen Sinclair, bail set t $50,000.
