NORTH BEND, PA –Four years ago, avid outdoors-man and wildlife photographer Stephen Miller joined The Chapman Wordweavers Society. The ‘Chapman Wordweavers’ is a mentored inspirational writing group. Miller and the other members quickly went from acquaintances and former schoolmates to friends, best friends — and then an inseparable little family.

It was no secret, Miller loved his community and life in Pennsylvania. He enjoyed hiking, camping and kayaking.

His ambitions and goals were quite different than most of the other group members. He wanted to share his love of the outdoors and photography by photographing some of the most beautiful creeks, waterfalls, cascades, dams, lakes, covered bridges, wildlife and some of the best scenery the Pennsylvania Sproul State Forest had to offer, and he did just that. Miller’s dream was to see his work published and share it with those who seek and love the outdoors, as much as he did.

Unexpectedly on February 11, 2020 the inseparable little writing family received word the little brother of the group was called home to be with the Lord. This left the close-knit writing family devastated.

The little writing family held a private balloon release in April 2021, but remained completely heartbroken, wanting to honor their little brother, they decided to bring Miller’s work to life and publish his book, as he wanted.

Further paying tribute to their loved one, they share a photograph of Miller, on the last page, standing in front of the ‘unknown’ waterfall in Chapman Township. They have been calling state and local agencies to officially have the waterfall named after Miller, but with Covid in full swing, the process has been delayed.

The writing group released one book together prior to Miller’s death titled, ‘200 Years: Celebrating Chapman Township, Pennsylvania. The book was presented to the Chapman Township Supervisors at their 200th-anniversary celebration a the Chapman Township Firehall. Miller led the way as a guest speaker.

The group has several writers and photographers from the Renovo area; Vincent Tarantella, James Roberts, Terri Hough, Glen ‘Glenie b’ Brooks, Stephen Miller, Gladys Caroline, JC Green, Violet Blossom, Maureen Ruhl and John Ruhl. Since joining the writing group, Roberts, Hough, Brooks, Ruhl and Caroline have each released books.

The ‘Chapman Wordweavers Society’ writing group was founded in 2014 by Donna M. Kshir and Lee Roberts.

Kshir is a 15x bestselling author, publisher and featured in over 50 books. Roberts is also a bestselling author, publisher and has had her work on display. Both Ms. Kshir and Roberts are highly respected activists using their voice for Conner’s Law — Kentucky, receiving a Letter of Recommendation for working with Conner’s Law, uniting with Erin’s Law, Animal Rescue and Rights, Children’s Rights, Missing and Unidentified Persons, the Homeless, Domestic Violence, Writing and Publishing Books, Educational Radio Broadcasts, and the Deaf Community.

Currently, these leading ladies are collecting signatures to make the current Central Registry open to the public to reduce the number of children affected by child abuse, and they host a Wednesday night podcast that is featured on iHeartRadio.

The group meets weekly to mentor aspiring writers to live their dream of becoming published authors, but due to Covid 19 restrictions, meetings are currently placed on hold until further notice.
