“It’s That Time of Year”

The Renovo Community Choir to present Christmas Concert

We’re back! The Renovo Area Community Choir is celebrating the start of the Christmas season with their choral concert December 5, 2021, 2:00 pm at Seventh Street United Methodist Church. Under the direction of Patricia Lacy and accompanied by Diana Welshans, the choir will provide an afternoon of secular and sacred selections, beginning with an energetic and fun anthem, “Christmas is the Best Time of the Year”. Everyone should recognize “The Christmas Waltz”. And “The Manger Carol” is an arrangement combining both familiar renditions of Away in a Manger. With a gentle swing, “Glory to the Lamb” tells the story of the birth of Jesus, followed by the beautiful song, “All Through the Night”. Bringing the first half of the concert to a happy ending, will be a medley of “Holiday Favorites”.

During a brief intermission the audience will enjoy a vocal selection “White Christmas” by Charly Kepler and a piano solo “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas” by Kedda Bissman.

“Sing We All the First Noel” is a rhythmic combination of an “African Carol” with “The First Noel”. “A Christmas Trilogy” is a lovely arrangement of three lullabies – “Silent Night”, “What Child is This?” and “Sleep, My Savior, Sleep”. Fitting the theme of this year’s concert, the next selection is the well known “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year”. From Olaf’s Frozen Adventure comes the question, “Do you have traditions for “That Time of Year”?

Happily, the choir will remind us all that everyone can “Be a Santa Claus”. The finale is the joyful “A Merry Christmas Medley”. With the help of Santa’s elves and a few surprises, we hope everyone attending will be in the holiday spirit.

Masks are required.
