HARRISBURG, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Health on Wednesday reported 6,024 new COVID-19 cases, the largest one-day increase in a week.

Statewide hospitalizations totaled 3,016, up 168 from Tuesday. The hospitalization number is the highest since 3,000 were reported on Oct. 19. Those in intensive care totaled 657, up 26 from Tuesday.

Clinton County reported 37 new cases for a total of 5,649. In Centre County 70 new cases were recorded for a total of 21,874. Lycoming County added 69 new cases for a total of 18,197.

The state Wednesday reported 150 new deaths. The death count in Clinton County increased by one for the second day in a row to 85.
