State, county COVID case update

HARRISBURG, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Health on Thursday reported 5,293 new COVID-19 cases, a drop of more than 1,600 from Wednesday.

Statewide hospitalizations totaled 2,609, up 21 from Wednesday. Those in intensive care totaled 600, up 16 from Wednesday.

In Clinton County 40 new cases were reported on Thursday. increasing the total to 5,381. Centre County saw an increase of 71 new cases, to a total of 21,119, while Lycoming County went up by 113 to 17,380. .

The state Thursday reported 73 new deaths. The death count in Clinton County remained at 81.
