Lady Wildcat Volleyball Drops D6 Final
TYRONE, PA- In a Class 4A battle, Central Mountain took on a very strong
State College team and pushed the Lady Lion hard in the first two games.
They dropped both: 25-17 and 26-24 but were highly competitive. Once
again it was balance by the Lady ‘Cats that kept them in those games. In
the third game, it was all State as they pressured with their 2-0 game
advantaged and wore down the Central Mountain ladies. That game ended in
a 25-8 dominance.
Ashley Rich, Emily Bartlett and Emilee Heverly played strong back court
games with diving saves and classic set-up. The front line was led by
Kyleigh McDermit along side Olivia Rockey, Keely Rohrbach and Reese
Doyle. Kylie Garman was also a valuable asset in the first two games.
Bartlett, Rich, Doyle and Garman are all seniors and end their careers
as the solid core of the 2021 Wildcats, with a District 4A Runner-Up
team finish.
Coach Jamie Rauch did a masterful job in her first season as head coach.
She had the team all playing together and enjoying the game. Her team
improved vastly over the season finishing with a 12-6 final record.
The volleyball season has come to and end, but several of the players
will participate in basketball.
Good luck to 12-2 State College in the PIAA State Payoffs.
