State COVID case numbers update

HARRISBURG, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Health on Wednesday released the first statewide COVID-19 case numbers since Sunday. For the three days they show 10,425 new cases, continuing a recent tempering of the number of new cases.

The state said there are 2,613 hospitalized patients due to COVID-19, down 26 from Tuesday and the lowest number since Sept. 24. 624 are in an intensive care unit, down six from Tuesday.

In Clinton County 46 new cases were reported for the three day period, bringing the total to 5,068. Centre County saw an increase of 98 new cases over the three days, to a total of 20,796, while Lycoming County increased by 153 over the three days to 16,751.

The state Wednesday reported 257 new deaths over the three days. The death count in Clinton County increased by three over the three days to 81.
