KCSD superintendent Martin reports 16 student COVID cases

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP, PA – Keystone Central School District Superintendent Jacquelyn Martin, in her most recent monthly report issued on Monday, said there are 16 known positive cases of COVID-19 within the district; that figure compares to 27 one month ago. She noted the Monday number equates to less than 1 percent of the student population. Elementary cases (grades K-4) number seven and secondary (grades 5-12) total nine. Current cases among staff total eight, same as a month ago.
Her report read, “It is important that we all do our part to stay healthy. Our layered mitigation efforts are still in place and we have been able to keep all schools open. Please keep children home when they are sick or experiencing any of the known COVID-related symptoms.”
The superintendent also relayed word that the CDC is expected to approve COVID-19 vaccines for children between the ages of 5 and 11 this month, noting “We recommend that you consult your child’s doctor for guidance on whether or not the vaccine is recommended for your child.”
Her report said that Clinton County remains at a high level of community spread “with the number of cases…fluctuating each week.”
