County set for Nov. 2 Election
LOCK HAVEN, PA – The Clinton County Election Return Board held a brief meeting Thursday and heard from Maria Boileau that the county is “good to go” for the Tuesday, Nov. 2 municipal election. The county’s director of voter registration told the return board everything is in readiness.
The return board consists of the county commissioners and commission board chairman Miles Kessinger and commissioner Angela Harding were present to give approval on several matters. These included the names for the county’s pre-canvas board to work election day on tabulating mail-in ballots; the canvas recount board to begin its work on Friday, Nov. 5; and the appointment of board of election workers in precincts where vacancies exist. Boileau noted the election day workers have all received proper training for their tasks.
A final voter eligibility list was released. It shows 21,910 county residents eligible to vote next Tuesday: 11,862 Republicans; 7,215 Democrats; 2,691 others; 116 Libertarians; and 26 Green Party members. The voter registration deadline was Oct. 18.
Polls next Tuesday will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. The long range forecast calls for showers with temperatures in the low 50s.
