COVID case update

HARRISBURG, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Health on Friday reported 4,496 new COVID-19 cases statewide, a drop of 500 from Thursday.

The state said there are 2,900 hospitalized patients due to COVID-19, down 29 from Thursday. 668 are in an intensive care unit, unchanged from Thursday.

In Clinton County 20 new cases were reported on Friday, bringing the total to 4,809. Centre County saw an increase of 37 on Friday to 20,328, while Lycoming County increased by 98 to 15,950. The Lycoming number is the highest since 105 were reported on Oct. 3.

The state Thursday reported 88 new deaths. The death count in Clinton County remained at 73.
