COVID case update
HARRISBURG, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Health on Thursday reported 5,223 new COVID-19 cases statewide, the highest one-day number in six days.
The state said there are 2,978 hospitalized patients due to COVID-19, down 53 from Wednesday.
In Clinton County 26 new cases were reported on Thursday, bringing the total to 4,647. Centre County saw an increase of 61 on Thursday to 20,063, while Lycoming County increased by 93 to 15,409.
The state Thursday reported 108 new deaths. That marks three days in a row COVID-related deaths has topped the 100 mark, the first that has happened since early February. The death count in Clinton County remained at 71.
