Central Mountain Middle School to continue remote learning Tuesday
MILL HALL, PA – The Central Mountain Middle School will hold a second day of remote learning on Tuesday after a support staff member at Central Mountain Middle School passed away inside the school; that person’s body found before the start of the school day on Monday.
Word on a second day of remote learning for Tuesday was shared Monday afternoon by Keystsone Central School District Superintendent Jacquelyn Martin:

All students and staff from the Central Mountain Middle School will operate on a Remote Learning Day for Tuesday, October 12, 2021. Online classes will begin promptly at 8:27 am.
In-person learning on our regular schedule will resume on October 13, 2021.
Grief Counseling support is available for students and staff. Staff members should contact the CMMS Counseling office at 570-893-4900 extension 2952. Students may also request grief counseling support at this LINK.
That announcement followed earlier word from the superintendent of “an unexpected death of one of our support staff members early this morning.” She noted while state police were investigating, “it has been confirmed that there are no safety concerns for students, staff or community members.”
As a result of the incident, middle school students and their families were notified that school for Monday would be switched to remote status.
