State COVID cases drop


HARRISBURG, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Health on Monday reported 2,872 new COVID-19 cases statewide, the lowest one-day number since mid September.

The state said there are 2,967 hospitalized patients due to COVID-19, up 68 from Sunday.

In Clinton County eight new cases were reported on Monday, bringing the total to 4,582. The number of new daily cases in Clinton County is the lowest so far this month; the high was 33 on Oct. 3. Centre County saw an increase of 12 on Monday to 19,903, while Lycoming County increased by 42 to 15,222.

No new deaths were reported by the state for the third day in a row; the death count in Clinton County remained at 71.
