State COVID case update

HARRISBURG, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Health on Friday reported 5,583 new COVID-19 cases statewide.

The state said there are 2,930 hospitalized patients due to COVID-19, down 71 from Thursday. Of those hospitalized 680 are in intensive care units, unchanged from Thursday.

In Clinton County 30 new cases were reported on Friday, bringing the total to 4,518. The number of new daily cases in Clinton County this month has ranged from a low of 12 on Oct. 2 to a high of 33 on Oct. 3. Centre County saw an increase of 64 on Friday to 19,769, while Lycoming County increased by 92 to 15,043.
