State COVID cases stay up


HARRISBURG, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Health on Thursday reported 5,819 new COVID-19 cases statewide; the second highest one-day total since Sept. 1.

The state said there are 3,001 hospitalized patients due to COVID-19, up 110 from Wednesday. Of those hospitalized 680 are in intensive care units, up five from Wednesday.

In Clinton County 26 new cases were reported on Thursday, bringing the total to 4,488. Centre County saw an increase of 63 on Thursday to 19,705, while Lycoming County increased by 78 to 14,951.

92 new deaths were reported by the state; the death count in Clinton County remained at 71.
